Dan took me to Warrington hospital on Feb 29th 2008 at 3AM, I was 9 days overdue and my contractions had just started. As this was my 1st pregnancy I wanted to get to hospital as soon as possible! After being monitored for three hours the midwives sent me home with cocodamol to ease the pain as I wasnt ready to give birth. They also advised me that I wasn't even 1cm dilated! :-)
My contractions were getting stronger and stronger as the day went on and neither Dan or I could sleep, finally around midnight my waters broke and Dan took me back to the hospital. I was 4cm dilated and ready to go into labour. By 4.50AM on March 1st 2008, Isabelle Marie Grant was born to the proudest parents in the world! She had to be worked on by the baby doctor as she had swallowed meconium in the womb and wasn't breathing but, after what seemed like a lifetime, she came to life and was placed in my arms... the most beautiful thing i have ever laid eyes on!
